Each coin contains approximately 1.2 ounces, or 37.5 grams of gold bullion.

These coins were issued by the Mexican Mint as a tribute to 1821, the year of Mexican Independence.  

The 50 Peso Mexican gold coin is highly popular worldwide, due to its design and its low premium. The 50 Peso gold coin, which is often referred to as the Gold Centenario, is a reproduced design that was first used by the Mexican Mint in 1921. The coin was first released to mark the 100 years of Mexican independence. Almost all 50 Peso gold coins have a restrike year of 1947. Each Mexican Centenario gold coin contains 1.20565 ounces of gold, or 37.5 grams. These coins are sold in plastic slips. These coins are supplied as random year issue coins and the condition will vary.

Each gold coin has a face value of 50 pesos, which  features on the reverse the Winged Victory. This stunning image was designed by Emilio del Moral, and features the symbolic Angel of Independence who wears a crown that represents victory. The face value of the coin and the purity also feature on the stunning image. Meanwhile, the reverse of the gold coin features the country’s coat of arms.

These coins are only available in gold.
